![]() Should your wedding rings match? TIPS FOR BUYING DIAMOND WEDDING RINGSPerhaps one of the most stressful yet pleasurable events in a couple's life is the purchasing of wedding rings. Wedding rings come in all different styles and settling on a particular ring may be quite difficult at times. One can ponder about a number of things when choosing a wedding ring such as what metal type to choose, whether to have a plain style or something flashier and if the wedding ring should have gemstones inlaid or not. It is important to keep in mind however that this type of stressful shopping spree can be turned into a more enjoyable and less neurotic event if one takes heed of a few helpful hints. The following paragraphs will highlight things which can be done to make the diamond wedding ring shopping experience a whole lot better. Discuss With Your Significant Other BeforehandSince the wedding rings are something which are usually purchased together and are not a secretive venture such as the engagementring shopping trip usually is, it is important to talk about certain factors of the wedding ring purchase with one's sweetheart prior to embarking on the shopping trip. Some things that should be discussed by the couple include type of metal they both want their wedding ring to be comprised of, what, if any, engraving they would like to have done to the rings and if both couples are going to have the same amount of diamonds inlaid in the rings. Another thing which needs to be discussed by the couple purchasing the diamond wedding rings is how much money they are looking to spend on the ring purchase. This is a valid factor to know prior to going shopping for the rings as it can help make their decision a bit easier. For example, by knowing they could only spend "x" amount of dollars, they will save time by not looking at rings which cost "y" and "z" amounts of dollars. There is no reason to look at rings which one cannot afford as it just gets the couple thrown off track. Along with the same topic of cost is who is going to pay for the wedding rings. Traditionally, the bride-to-be would pay for the wedding ring of the groom-to-be and vice versa. Nowadays it is really up to the couple themselves if they would like to go the traditional route or if they want to pay for their own or if one of the individuals pay for all. It is truly a personal decision that is up to the couple to decide. Research Your OptionsPrior to hopping in the car to do a little wedding ring shopping, it is quite advantageous if the couple does some pre-shopping research. The first thing which should be determined is where they intend to purchase the rings. Basically, there are two main options: in person at a store or online. There are pros and cons to purchasing the diamond wedding rings in each of these venues and the following paragraph will relate to in-store purchases. Some of the pros to purchasing diamond wedding rings in a store include ability to try on the actual rings, a better idea of what they look like and being able to obtain the perfect fit. There are also some negative aspects to purchasing diamond wedding rings in stores which include not being able to obtain web-only sale prices and possibly being hassled by store clerks where shopping cannot be done in the privacy of one's own home. Internet shopping for diamond wedding rings also has its pros and cons. Some of the positive aspects with regard to shopping online are being able to obtain often better prices by taking advantage of web-only price rates, ability to look at more rings in a less amount of time and not having to wait for a store clerk to help you. With regard to the cons, Internet shopping does not allow one the opportunity to be fitted for the ring, one is sometimes unable to get a true feel for the style and overall quality of the diamond wedding ring and the size and quality of the diamond(s) may be difficult to detect. When looking at both options, the couple can decide which factors suit them best and go with one or the other. One option which the couple should consider in their search for diamond wedding rings is that they may be able to do some physical legwork first and then find and purchase a ring that they had seen in a store online. This way they know exactly the type of ring they are getting but may in fact get it for a lesser price. This would be the best of both worlds and something the couple should definitely consider. Finding a Reasonable PriceIt is fair to say that nobody likes to pay more for something than they have to. By applying this statement to the setting at hand, it can be shown that there are a few ways in which the couple can get a great deal on beautiful wedding rings. One way in which to get the best price when purchasing diamond wedding rings is to look for sales that department stores or jewelry stores may be advertising. Why buy a ring for full price when you can get the exact same thing for 50% off? End of season sales and other types of clearance sales are a great way to save money on the purchase of diamond wedding rings. Another way to save money on the purchase of diamond wedding rings is to purchase them together. Frequently stores will advertise savings for individuals who buy both of their rings at the same time. This is not to say that it will be a 2-for-1 deal; however, the store may give a good percentage off the total price as an incentive for the couple to buy both of their rings at the same establishment. Lastly, don't discount the Internet when looking to purchase diamond wedding rings. Some individuals may be hesitant to buy something so special online; however, the deal that one may receive by purchasing the rings in this manner may be too tempting to refuse. These are just a few things to consider when going on the diamond wedding ring purchase excursion. If couples give credence to one or all of these tips, the wedding ring shopping trip may just be a bit less stressful and even fun. |
